Saatwan Darwaaza

Format: Social Art Intervention |

Cause Domestic Violence | Producer: Sakshi |

Year: 2001-2002

For those who savour dramas based on real-life incidents, Saatwan Darwaza is a celebration of those women who managed to move beyond the life of shame and humiliation that was thrust upon them to script a new beginning for themselves. After 1.5 Years of intensive workshops, 9 survivors of gender-based violence performed their own stories on stage. Reliving the disturbing past was not easy. But as one of the survivors who performed her story puts it, “I will continue to revisit my memories of fear. But with the conviction that I will be able to lessen the sting of my memories, and that these demons can no longer touch me.''
