Anshul wakes up in the morning with a massive head, desperately looks for her phone, which she finally finds in Bela's room. 

Bela wakes up with Anshul’s rummaging and berates her for last night. Appeals to her good sense. Rants against Kadambari. Anshul realises that Bela had come home while she was passed out, and that Kadambari had waited for her mother to arrive. Anshul hears about the face-off between Kadambari and Bela. She is aghast. She wants to apologise to Kadambari for her mother’s behaviour last night. Immediately.

Anshul switches on her phone to find 500 missed calls from Kadambari. She calls back. The phone rings incessantly before a male voice responds, ‘Yes?’ 

Anshul stammers, ‘… Kadam…. ba… ri…’ 

The voice at the other end responds. ‘She is gone, my child. She died last night.’ 

‘Hhhhhhow?’ Anshul is catatonic. 

‘Killed herself!’

The voice, the words, the sound hang. Still. In the air.
