WEIGHTLESS-PART 5

MATURE CONTENT | Reader Discretion Advised | Eating Disorder

Anshul could not wait to reach home to tell her mother all this. As she retold the story to her mother, Bela watched her with concerned eyes. ‘Hey, Babu, should we go back? I can give up this assignment and return the scholarship you've got to study in this school. Doesn't seem such a great place after all,’

Bela was worried. But Anshul ribbed her mother about becoming the most well-known artist of her time and this fabulous commission. The massive sculpture she is making and how soon they will be rich and famous… and soon they are both laughing and stuffing their mouths with besan ki barfi and weaving stories of what they will wear on the opening night and the speech that Anshul will write for Bela…

In the quiet that followed the high-energy ribbing, Bela asks Anshul quietly, ‘Shouldn't you tell someone about your concerns for Kadambari?’

‘Mom! I am not a snitch. Promise you won't do anything about it or else I won't tell you anything.’

‘Ok’ Bela doesn't sound too sure.

Anshul threateningly, ‘Mom…’

‘ Hmmmmm Ok’…

‘And … the tattoo…’ Anshul slips in. ….

‘NO!’
